More Good News for New York Stewart International Airport

On March 9, ultra-low fare carrier Frontier Airlines announced it will launch nonstop service between New York Stewart International Airport and two unserved destinations: Atlanta and Raleigh-Durham beginning May 26.

To celebrate the airline’s expansion at Stewart, Frontier is offering fares as low as $39. Beginning on May 26, Frontier will be running service to Atlanta three times a week at an introductory rate of $39. The airline will begin service to Raleigh-Durham on May 26 at introductory fares of $49. Frequency and times are subject to change, so please check FlyFrontier.com for the most updated schedule.

“We are excited to announce this expansion of service at New York Stewart International Airport,” said Will Evans, senior manager sales and distribution, Frontier Airlines. “With the addition of these new routes, we will offer nonstop service to a total of five destinations from New York Stewart International Airport. Today’s announcement means both visitors and residents of the southern Hudson Valley have more options for convenience and affordability with Frontier’s ultra-low fares and friendly service.”

“The Port Authority remains committed to offering greater connectivity to more destinations from this airport,” said Omar Astacio, interim general manager of New York Stewart International Airport. “The expansion of Frontier’s service is an essential part of the Port Authority’s overall effort to achieve growth and become more competitive, and we look forward to our continued partnership in this endeavor.”

Frontier’s expansion follows the announcement a few weeks ago that international carrier Play Airlines will be launching daily international flights from New York Stewart International Airport to Reykjavik, Iceland starting on June 9. PLAY will offer connecting flights to other European cities from Reykjavik.

Earlier this year, Norse Atlantic Airways reported it had received approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation to operate flights between New York Stewart International Airport and Norway/The European Union. In October 2021, Frontier Airlines began service between New York Stewart and three Florida destinations.
