MONTEBELLO — Provident New York Bancorp, the parent company of Provident Bank, posted a $7 million profit for the quarter ending Dec. 31, up 23 percent from a year ago.
Earnings were driven by growth in commercial loans and deposits, according to a company statement. Non-performing loans decreased 16 percent to $33.6 million.
